UNIVERSITY CHALLENGE – SOMALI YOUTH FOR INTEGRITY (SYFI)
Somali societies across London get together to compete against one another. Which university will win the first Somali Youth For Integrity (SYFI) University Challenge?
This is the first of our SYFI February Fundraiser event. SYFI is the umbrella which Somali Societies across the country come under and work together.
The aim of the February Fundraiser is to raise money for Lascaanood General Hospital in Somalia. We see this hospital as being a good cause. Due to the ongoing conflicts, a lot of international aid has not reached the hospital as organisations are wary of the tensions between governments and simply don’t want to get involved for their own safety.
Border disputes have deterred a lot of organisations from crossing into Lascaanod. This has barred a lot of aid from reaching the hospital, as well as parts of the city. The hospital has suffered heavily due to this and this has lead to a deficiency of supplies medication, beddings and other basic necessities.
Come along and represent your university. Please contact your university Somali Society if you would like to represent your university.
