Telling the real Story meeting
A Diaspora meeting organised byUNHCR Bureau for Europe, titled Telling the Real Story which aimed at reaching Somali refugees in Africa and Europe and also communicating with the diaspora. The project is aimed at communicating the dangers related to irregular movement to Europe through testimonies that are available on the platform, and have been provided by Somali refugees in Europe. The purpose of sharing these testimonies is so that refugees would be able to make an informed. Telling the Real Story platform enables Eritreans and Somalis who have made the journey to Europe share their stories about the journey and the situation in destination countries.
The objective of this sensitization project is threefold (i) to reduce the loss of lives at sea; (ii) to counter human smuggling and trafficking from the Horn of Africa and their exposure to serious human rights violations; and Iii) to help and Somalis on the move make an informed decision.
The meeting will be held at the ATM House in London on the 29th of April 2016 at 2pm UK Time.
