Open-Minded Debate – Hate Crime

The Open-Minded Debate is a monthly debate session where we discuss issue of community importance by inviting a panel of expert and audience.
This month’s OMD, we are focusing on ‘Hate Crime’ towards Somalis in the UK; by exploring the forms of racism, and hate crime within our societies. Also to address the social consequences of Post-Brexit on ethnic minorities as well as how can collectively tackle the issues of Hate Crime and support those victims of hate crime.
We will discuss the followings: 
1) How prevalent is racism, and discrimination within our societies?
2) How are the Somali community affected by hate crime?
3) Why do many hate crime incidents go unreported and how can we can encourage those that are victims of hate crime attacks to seek support.
4) How have the media itself contribute to hate crime?
