Open-Minded Debate – Education
From as early as 1997 there has an increasing number of research and reports on the under-achievements of Somalis in schools in the UK. There has been an enormous gap within the education system amongst ethnic minorities. As the levels of achievements are those of Asian background and white pupils, while the lower groups have mainly consisted of Blacks Africans, Caribbean’s and Somalis being among the lowest performing.
We hold every Open-Minded Debate on the last Thursday of every month, therefore, this debate is being planned for the Thursday 29th September 2016 at the ATM House Market Approach off Lime Grove Shepherd’s Bush, London W12 8DD. The topic discussion is around the challenges and achievements of Somali youth in the Educational system in the UK.
