Anti-Tribalism Movement is pleased to invite you to the Open-Minded Debate on Country Lines and Child Exploitation next Thursday 20th September 5.30pm- 7.30pm at Anti-Tribalism Movement Market Approach, Shepherd’s Bush, London W12 8DD
Open-Minded Debate is a monthly community-focused platform that allows for a candid discussion on many important issues that are timely and relevant to the community and the wider society. It is about encouraging critical thinking through the exchange of objective dialogue in an open forum with a panel of experts and audience.
This Month’s topic of discussion is: County Lines and Child Sexual Exploitation
In this year alone we have witnessed an increase in many young people being exploited into the county lines to sell drugs. According to a National Crime Agency report, the most common of those that are exploited are young Somalis, which were the reference to be 33%, many originating from London.
Sexual exploitation is also a significant risk factor associated with county lines. It is used either as a means of control or exploitation for the gratification of gang members or even as a commodity to be sold.
Join us to explore some of the factors behind the county line phenomenon and why many young Somalis are becoming vulnerable to exploitation. We will be joined by those working in the front line in combatting child exploitation and county lines, where they will be presenting on some of the key issues.
Light Refreshment will be provided
We will be looking forward to seeing you all.
