OMD – “Extremism and Radicalisation”

Open-Minded Debate

“Extremism and Radicalisation”

This Month’s topic of discussion is on extremists and radicalisation risks within young vulnerable Somalis. The Open Minded Debate hopes to create dialogue and provide a space for Somalis to discuss issues that matter to them.

We feel that in order to prevent radicalisation, we need to discuss and explore the factors that are causing young Somalis to turn to extremism and address them. We are hoping to promote a better understanding of the root causes of radicalisation, while also creating an awareness of the signs of radicalisation and signposting members of our community for assistance and support.
