The Anti-Tribalism Movement (ATM) is hosting a book talk with Halima Abdirizak, author of ” My Father’s Legacy” A Somali Woman’s Journey from Somalia to U.S on Jan 8th.
Halima Abdirazak was born in Mogadishu, Somalia and by age 7, she fled the country alongside her family. Halima has extensive background and experience in women’s health services. Her technical skills and cultural knowledge have been pivotal actors in addressing critical needs in her local Somali community. The application of her skills led Halima to become an active community leader, entrepreneur and Somali author. As a Somali migrant, Halima is passionate about several things, which include education, gender equality, human rights, and peace for Somalia. Her past experiences and passions lead her to write her first book, “My Father’s Legacy” A Somali Woman’s Journey from Somalia to U.S.
