Lead and Be Led Ends for the Year

The Lead and Be Led programme has come to an end. This year we have seen 33 young people successfully complete the leadership training with us. The young participants have gained essential skills in becoming good leaders in their education, personal and work lives in addition to making positive changes within their own communities.

To wrap up an amazing year we’ve had the launch of a number of exciting social action projects from our young people. Beneficiaries have aimed to tackle an array of issues including social mobility, mental health and raising awareness about the benefits of extra-curricular sporting activities.

Not only that, our young people have gained valuable critical thinking and decision-making skills that are crucial to leading successful adult lives, whatever their future aspirations may be.

Some of the best highlights this year have been supporting young people to gain the skills to be able to seek lucrative opportunities which includes, joining the Imperial College Summer School, internships with law firms such as Mayer-Brown and assisting young people in other leadership programmes with organisations such as Faith Forums for London and the Aleto Foundation.

The programme is funded by the Big Lottery Fund to develop and train 60 young Somalis over two years.

We are now recruiting for the next group of young people to take part in the programme. If you are interested in applying for the Lead and Be Led programme please click here on the link below which will direct you to the lead and led page where you can submit your application.
