The graduates of ATM fellowship programme 2017, ‘professionals, supporters and colleagues gathered together to celebrate the successful completion of the ATM Fellowship year 2016 –2017 at SOAS, University of London.
The event brought together successful individuals from across a range of professions and backgrounds including from lucrative business, government as well as the voluntary sector. Fellows’ were encouraged to connect, network and learn from guests to explore the many opportunities available to them in these sectors.
The Fellows’ are expected to champion positive changes for Somalis as role models and influencers. Fellows’ become the bridgeheads that empower other Somalis to follow in their footsteps through strategic leadership to ensure the voice of their community is represented at all levels of public decision-making.
Professor Werner Menski who was one of the lecturers of the programme spoke movingly to the Fellows on the theme of “ Leadership Course” and said. “It is very important that this kind of programme is offered to empower young Somalis to become better in whom they aspire to do or to be”
