The International Somali Awards 2017 is coming to London in March, and we’d love you to get involved! As the countdown to the Awards begins, we’re running a series of blogs focusing on the nominees.

Category Focus: Business of the Year
Horyaal Group is a design, decorating, and renovation firm that specialises in creating extraordinary architectural interiors and exteriors in Somalia. They work exclusively with specialst renovation and construction professionals to design unique and beautiful spaces that are reviving and restoring buildings across Somalia.
Hass Petroleum Group
Hass Petroleum Group has invested heavily in the development of storage facilities, retail station networks and a strong supply chain infrastructure. This, coupled with the use of cutting-edge technology, has positioned the group as the market leaders in Somalia’s East regional oil industry. Hass Petroleum Group has grown rapidly over the last decade and has become a household name in Somalia with significant contributions made to local residents.
Somali Poultry Farm
Formed in Somalia in February 2012, the Somali Poultry Farm now produces 5,000 broiler chicks and 18,000 layer chicks per week. It has reduced Somalia’s dependency on imported frozen chicken by producing much more within the country itself. The company employs local youth to drive its production, providing them with training and a regular income.
